Mount Kenya is steep, craggy and with twin summit us well you can do Technical Climbing to the highest Summit,Its the kind of peak mountaineers might conjure up when they dream of serious climbing adventures,Mt Kenya is also second highest than MT Kilimanjaro (5199m)17059feet) 

MT Kenya peak are: Batian 5199m, Nelion  5186m, Lenana 4985m

N/B For both Batian and Nelion you must do the technical climbing to get at really summit

But Lenana is called tourist peak because everyone who comes forces on it. 

GOOD SEASONS FOR CLIMBING MT KILIMANJARO AND MT KENYA

There are two climbing seasons in East Africa Mid-December through Mid-March and Early June through Mid-October for even those who do Mt Kenya technical, Both of these periods are considered dry season.

7 Days MT Kenya Technical Climbing

Kenya  Technical Guide we are well trained to lead on rock climbing expeditions to Batian and Nelion. The Guides have undergone training with NOLS school highly experience climbers

Climbing Mount Kenya is serious and it is important to acclimatize well before trekking the main summit.

4 Days Sirimon down Chogoria Route

Sirimon down Chogoria is the most famous trekking routes on Mount Kenya – the Sirimon and the Chogoria Routes – and make the tour a remarkably diverse and spectacular hike. Sirimon Route, coming from the west, passes through the dry areas of the mountain with giant trees and rocky terrain. The descent on the Chogoria Route is exactly the opposite with lush bamboo forests and highlands. The ascent to the summit is as difficult as any rise in eastern Africa, but the rest of the hike is generally perceived as easier than the Kilimanjaro tour.

DAY 1 – Nairobi -Old Moses Camp

You leave Nairobi at 7:00am and drive  to Nanyuki town the base of Mt Kenya,lunch served here after transfer to Sirimon Park Gate (2660m) where the trek start through the tropical rain forest a bout 4-hour walk 9km  to Old Moses Camp (3300m) for dinner and overnight

DAY 2 – Old Moses -Shiptons Camp

After breakfast  leave the camp at 7.30am and continue your hike through the moorland characterized by many varieties of senecia and lobelia to Shiptons Camp (4200m). Lunch will be served on the way. The 14km-hike takes about 7hours. Overnight will be at Shiptons Camp just below the 3 majestic peaks – Batian, Nelion and Lenana very good view

DAY 3- Shiptons/Peak Lenana/Bandas

Wake around 2:30am for pre breakfast, after start to attempt point Lenana where it will take you about 3hours to the summit after catch the sunrise photo and view of MT Kilimanjaro if clear clouds,descend down through Simba Col and continue to Mintos Hut (4200m). Here you have full breakfast, after descend further down passing along a ridge overlooking Gorge Valley via road head at 3300m for your hot lunch and after proceed further to Bands 2950m)for Dinner and overnight

DAY 4 – Bandas/Chogoria/Nairobi

After breakfast You  be picked and start driving through the thick tropical rain forest in eastern side of Mt Kenya  to chogoria town where you will connect your transport to get back Nairobi arriving late Afternoon
