Mount Kenya is steep, craggy and with twin summit us well you can do Technical Climbing to the highest Summit,Its the kind of peak mountaineers might conjure up when they dream of serious climbing adventures,Mt Kenya is also second highest than MT Kilimanjaro (5199m)17059feet) 

MT Kenya peak are: Batian 5199m, Nelion  5186m, Lenana 4985m

N/B For both Batian and Nelion you must do the technical climbing to get at really summit

But Lenana is called tourist peak because everyone who comes forces on it. 

GOOD SEASONS FOR CLIMBING MT KILIMANJARO AND MT KENYA

There are two climbing seasons in East Africa Mid-December through Mid-March and Early June through Mid-October for even those who do Mt Kenya technical, Both of these periods are considered dry season.

5 DAYS MT KENYA SIRIMON DOWN SIRIMON

DAY 1: NAIROBI/NANYUKI/MAU MAU CAVES

Depart from Nairobi around 8:am and drive to northern side of Kenya via Karatina town the biggest open air market in Africa to Nanyuki town the base of Mt Kenya for lunch,After drive to the entrance for afternoon walk to Mau Mau Caves where Mau Mau movement where used to hide the colonies time via Equator sign board just passed in near Nanyuki,After drive back for your Dinner and overnight in Nanyuki town

DAY 2: NANYUKI/OLDMOSES
After breakfast around 9:00am start driving toward
Solomon Gate (2650m)this where trek start through the Tropical Rain Forest to Old Moses Camp 9km walk where by can take you 4hours walk,lunch served en route Dinner and Overnight in the hut (3300m)

DAY 3: OLD MOSSES/SHIPTONS
After breakfast leave the camp and start to hike to shiptons camp via mackiders valley,Its will takes you about 6-7 hours walk pole pole where by is 14km to the camp,Lunch served en route,Dinner and overnight in the hut (4200m)

DAY 4: SHIPTONS /LENANA/ OLD MOSSES:
Wake around 2:30am for pre breakfast and 3:00am start to attempt point lenana your summit (4985m)where it’s takes you 3hours to the summit,After sunrise photo and spot view of MT Kilimanjaro if clear weather descend to shiptons camp for your full breakfast and after proceeds further down to old Moses camp for your hot lunch,Dinner and overnight in the hut (3300m)

DAY 5: OLD MOSSES/ NAIROBI
After breakfast leave the mountain through the tropical rain forest to Sirimon Gate 2hours walk, Where you will drive to Nanyuki town and catch your transport to Nairobi arriving in afternoon.
